Very grateful for the opportunity to have played a part in All Day I Dream at The Brooklyn Mirage for the first time, as this is an event that's typically been without a visual accompaniment in the space.
For use on this season's new LED wall, a custom controllable generative visual system was built out for the show and performed with over the course of the 10 hour event. The system consisted of ways to manipulate clouds which morphed, shimmered, and took on the stage design's architectural patterns before morphing back into clouds - and as day turned to night, the backdrop slowly began shifting into a 3D recreation of the architecture with lights bouncing off of the individual pieces, occasionally shifting and growing into psychedelic, organic forms that stretched out to surround stage. A slow return to form began happening near the end of the evening where darkened, shimmering clouds began to reappear and melt amidst a collection of stars, while soft outlines of the architectural forms morphed in and out of view in segments of the wall.
It was an exciting challenge to bring a new element to the show that was fairly unassuming and scenic so's to fit the event, while staying dynamic and evolving throughout the day - especially during the shift from day to night. Some live network editing in Touchdesigner throughout the show kept things spicy.
